28 weeks = Lung Maturity!!!

That next major milestone - 28 weeks!  It's crazy to think that in about 12 weeks, we get to meet Baby Boy...

I definitely felt the third trimester almost immediately.  My energy tanked this week, it's getting a bit harder to breathe, I feel a bit uncomfortable in the evening, wake up multiple times a night, have indigestion after every meal, and have insane swelling now.  It's amazing what a difference the past week has been in comparison to the previous weeks in the second trimester.

We're halfway through our Child Birth classes now, with the third one being this week and the final class with graduation next week on my birthday.  I have an awesome focal point item to pack in my hospital bag thanks to a great suggestion by my hubby.  If you know me in person, then you know my fascination with The Rock!  Can't wait to see GI Joe in IMAX 3D this weekend...

On Friday we did our maternity photos and I had my gestational diabetes test - which I passed!!!  No more diet issues to deal with!  They wanted the level to be below 130 and I was an even 100 which I thought was pretty good considering it was in the early afternoon and I had eaten breakfast and a late-morning snack/lunch before taking the test.  I didn't think it tasted too bad - just like orange Hi-C.

My photographer (Rebecca Danzenbaker Photography) posted one sneak peek photo from the maternity shoot today on her FB page and now I can't wait to see the rest!  She is absolutely amazing!!!  It was freezing on Friday morning and there were no cherry blossoms yet, but it obviously didn't matter because she managed to take a gorgeous photo without any added background needed.  I can't even believe it's me in the photo!!!

My parents were in town this weekend and loved seeing the nursery and everything we have done so far.  I was going to take pictures this week, but 1) I've been too tired and 2) I might as well wait until after my first shower next weekend so that everything looks a little more complete.

6 months pregnant!

Not too much going on these days other than getting bigger and bigger.  I've started to swell a little, especially in the evenings and can no longer wear high heels (boo!), but other than that have been feeling fine.  It's hard to believe I'm already in the third trimester.  I hope the next three months go as quickly as the last three, or even faster because I can't wait to hold Little Man in my arms!!!

Here's the visual of the bump progress from last month to this month:

6 months
After the picture was taken I realized from the angle the photo was taken that it looks like the doorknob to my left is a really accentuated belly button.  I'm an outie now, but not that much!

The nursery is officially complete in terms of painting, flooring, and major furniture.  We still have to move the glider upstairs closer to when he's born, purchase a mattress for the crib, and buy a new lamp shade and bookshelf, but other than that it's just organizing after each of the showers (I'm having three total).  I'll post more photos of the nursery including furniture and wall decorations after this weekend.  Dennis' mom saw it this past weekend and my parents are coming to town this weekend and grandparents get to see the final results first!  But, here's some more progress photos:

Painting complete and carpet ripped out

Hard wood floors and base board trim installed!

I've noticed that in each picture the blue looks a little different on the walls depending on the time of day and lighting.  But, they are all the same color!

Another couple of fun pictures:

1) Another art project for the nursery. The ball is made up of the following verse repeated: An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. 2 Timothy 2:5 (ESV).

2) Dennis washed our first loads of baby clothes that we received and bought.  I couldn't resist taking a picture of all the teeny, tiny clothes in piles.  Look at the little balls of socks on top of the camo pants in the left bottom corner - precious!!!

I have maternity photos first thing tomorrow morning and my gestational diabetes test in the afternoon.  Definitely looking forward to the one and not the other!  Hoping the results come out okay for the GD test - it's the only real thing I'm worried about before labor and delivery.  I already have to cut out salt, not sure what I'll do if I have to watch my sugar intake too!!!  I'll definitely post the professional maternity photos once I have them in a few weeks!
